Here's 30 images from the Final Fantasy IV remake on the Nintendo DS. Among the new stuff added in, except the most noticeable one being the 3D graphics, there will be fully voiced cutscenes, a remixed soundtrack and some never before seen content which will allow you to discover more about the main characters through some new episodes. Final Fantasy IV will be available this summer.

I wonder how many times Square expects it's fans to buy the (essentially) same game?

The "same" game, this is not.

I dont know why square prefer NDS over the PSP

It just cant handle BIG games like FF series

Before anyone starts....I HAD the NDS and played ff3 which was released

And i think it was boring....Fighting was not that good

While Crisis Core.....A game that i wont forget (Classic already)

A. because it has an install base of 75million units.
B. it costs far less than having to develop essentially a fully blown ps2 game.
C. you won't have to put a top team on it, and take away people from FFXIII

so in cost, development, profits it's hard not to pick DS, it's ideal for a developers to blood new teams.

I swear I read that first spell as "twincest"
http://images.gamersyde.com/gallery/public/8743/16...

Anyway I'm looking forward to this one. As an old-school FF fan I've always held FF4 as second-best (next to 9), so I'm hoping the remake does it justice.

Um FFVII:CC was a new game, FF3 is a remake, there is a big difference, once it turn based the other is real time.

Their getting to the "milking" stage of their run time. It always happens. The big massive company with the giant huge phenomena (to hell with spelling!) and the money/power goes to their head and they start remaking everything with tiny little changes, putting out terrible spin offs, or trying to go in a more "original" (but in the end just a bunch of random stuff thrown in) direction (like flying cars AND ninjas in the same game *COUGH*). Although I'm sure this is a great game. And square has my utmost respect. After all, they HAVE earned all this.

Perhaps they prefer it because the DS has sold vastly more units than the PSP has? Because it's the game system of choice for Japanese gamers?

It's not hard when you think about it for a microsecond. Games are a business, nothing more.

The only japanese Dev that prefer the PSP its called Capcom.
Monster Hunter Mania.

No other.
DS is the better selling plataform, either in hw&sw.

(...)

how the flying fu**, is this the same game? the "same" previous game was an 8-bit rpg-maker looking rpg.
This is a 3D remake, with new mini-games ( customizable A.I. controlled party member ), and tons of new stuff with more depth than the previous game.
Stop being bitter PSP owners. Buy a DS... it's time, already!

I'm not sure you can call Crisis Core an instant classic, even for Final Fantasy it's very pretentious. Unless you're a serious FFVII fanboy, you'll get very little enjoyment out of it. And as others have said, it's a little unfair to compare a brand new game like Crisis Core to Final Fantasy *III* which, although being a remake, stayed very true to the original.

IV was my favourite of all the games, so I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it on the DS. Especially as it's at least as long as Crisis Core is, and features just as much FMV and voice acting as it. It's every bit a "big" FF game, and definitely one of the best in the series :)

Sigh. Squeenix doesn't play favorites. DSLite gets FFIV, Tactics A2, Crystal Chronicles, FFXII RW, World Ends With You, DQIX, KH DS and FFIII. PSP gets Crisis Core, Dissidia, FF Tactics, Valkyrie Profile, SO1 & 2, and KH Birth. Pretty fair I think and pretty good idea to own both if you are a Squeenix fan.
