And finally, what's better than the traditionnal games montage to close the Sony Gamers Day 2008, showcasing all the big titles of the Playstation consoles ? Especially since the gameplay clips are even different from what we've already seen.

killzone 2 don't come out till 2009 and rfom2 look like the first gameplay wise which was ok but nothing that will take your breath away. Littlebigplanet is cool if you like that kids stuff all in all nothing all that special is comeing this year.

It comes down to personal preference, thinking that one simply blows the other away is fanboy nonsense. Personally, there's not a whole lot in '08 that I'll be buying for the PS3, but that doesn't mean there won't be compelling titles for other people. Some people don't give a rats-ass about Metal Gear Solid, and others don't care about Gears of War (or Ninja Gaiden 2, Too Human, Lost Odyssey, Splinter Cell, Banjo, Fable 2, etc). Pointless discussion.
The two biggest PS3 titles on my radar are Motorstorm 2 and Killzone 2. I think I'm interested in Resistance Fall of Man 2 as well, but don't see myself getting reeled in to its multiplayer modes, as great as they sound.
Anyway, still a pointless discussion :P

To me Ninja Gaiden 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4 are the games I really want this year. And other than MGS4 im not really excited about anything else on the PS3. There are some other games I want on the PS3 side but none that I need.
I really want Fable 2 and Gears 2 both for different reasons. I really wanted too human but thats really lost appeal with me the more I see it.
Overall I would say the lineups are similiar but I will get more on the 360 side more due to preference than quality.

I don't own a 360 or PS3, my friends do and I play either one... as far as personal preference, 360 still has the better FPS games and better online service/component not to mention still better exclusives in my mind (Team Ninja, Epic Games, etc).
When I see it the only things PS3 has is MGS4, Final Fantasy, and Little Big Planet (which is still shallow looking to me)
I think Killzone 2 will be bad, because Killzone 1 was bad, and I have never been interested in Resistance. Motorstorm doesn't compare to the racing titles on 360 either...

Alan Wake is only for 360 and Vista as far as I know. I think Remedy was planning PS3 version too but it was cancelled when Microsoft got publisher rights for the title.

I agree with you about Too Human though, I really don't see what the big fuss is over that one. Could be interesting, if it turns out to be good. But looking like it'll be a disaster is a perfect way of putting it. That said, I'm also not even remotely interested in Gears 2 but there are still more games I'm looking forward to this year than are on the PS3. But like has been said, it just depends what you're interested in. Have to feel sorry for those who only own a Wii right now..

Sequels shouldn't be a big deal when it's only the second iteration of a game... in videogames that is a really young franchise
