Looks great, not sure about holding a bright orange burning chair with your bare hands being real world rules-y though. ;)

They have disabled the abiltity to burn the character in this video. I was at the Atari presentation in London last week and saw the game first hand. (I saw this video too ;) )

This game lacks personality. It looks to me like a ripoff of RE4, set in bland and dark environments, and completely devoid of scares.

Haha...fucking awesome!

I'm loving the concept of this game so far. I'm not sure what the end product will be like, but this game has MASSIVE potential!

Either way, I'm well enjoying just watching the vids. This is the kind of stuff I've always wanted in games. Let's just hope the entire game is as dynamic as they're making it out to be and this game will be pure awesomeness!

I understand what you're saying, but I don't think it really applies. You could say the same about Condemned. But also, see the original Alone in the Dark which the original RE games took their cue from -at least in my opinion.

This seems more like the natural progression of this game whereas the RE franchise can really have whatever environment they like; as we see with RE5.

Also, this is only a tech demo and not the actual game. Though I'd imagine it would be very similar.

I know why i love the soundtrack so much in these diaries..

It so sounds like something straight from GHOST IN THE SHELL!

your opinion of the games personality is yours to create, but i don't think it's fair to say there are no scares. We've really only seen tech demos and really have no idea how the game will play out.

It's really not fair to make any assumptions pertaining to gameplay from these tech demos. The game could be the second coming of Christ or another cheap generic third-person action game using the RE4 camera angle. That said, the engine definitely looks impressive in these videos. Like someone else said, much more impressive than I was expecting. Last time I remember being as wowed with a tech demo was probably the Source engine demo. I am now cautiously optimistic for AitD5.

wow , looking good

but a chair would take longer then that to catch fire, you shud have to pour some petrol onto it first or something

infact since you can set fuel on fire to make a trail of flames,as seen in the first vid, i wonder if pouring fuel onto the chair would speed up the reaction? or whether it would make no differance..?

your complaining that this game lacks scares? how did you fathom that? surely you have to play it to figure that out. and resi 4 was about the least scary horror game to date so it wont be hard to beat that.

game looks innovative tho, im just hoping innovative doesnt end up being overly complex. having to stick tape to everything in your inventory in real time sounds like a bad idea. boss fights will be annoying, i can tell already.

only thing i dont like so far is the guys hair...lol, looks like he's wearing a hood most of the time its so thick and rigid. oh and the animation could use some work.

I don't remember much of the original, but there weren't (m)any boss fights in it if I recall correctly and I'm hoping they can achieve the same level of suspense here instead of making this a shooter. I mean the ghost in the library in the first one was just plain freaky and that was great! You knew it was coming through walls to get you even when you could not see it at first!
