The masons at Sony continue their good work with the Home construction, the social network a la Second Life planned for the Playstation 3 system. We see that the uploading of images seems functional in one of these new images, with nobody else than Shigeru Miyamoto shown in a frame. Also, would there be possibility of a mini-game with a unicycle? Look attentively in the window of that store.

Looks much more accessible and user friendly than Second Life. Lets see how this one does

HOME has been in 'basic' development since the early-life of PS2 according to Phil and now it keeps getting delayed AND in every bunch of screenshots they release, there is something new.

Sony are quite the perfectionists with this service.

I think I will use it often to go and play pool or bowling on it after a tough game of [insert ps3 online game here] with friends, it'll be cool.

It'll also be nice to get together with my PS3 friends list and just relax and chat even when I don't feel like gaming......

This has so much potential, I guess that's why it's taking ages.
I lvoe that it's free and god knows I'm not going to buy real money to buy virtual shirts lol so it'll remain free hopefully (unless no-one pays for stuff then Sony will have to start charging).

i doubt im going to use this in the same way that second life is used, as some sort of meet new friends, socialising sort of environment. i'll just use it for the online gaming side of things. the idea of being able to play a couple games of pool between games of cod4 or resistance seems awesome to me. that and the whole room thing where you can have TV's streaming content direct from your PS3's HDD or even from your PC via media connect. at least on paper it sounds like you could get a group of guys in a room, stream a movie (porn...lol) and let eveyone watch it...whether its quite as free (and law breaking) as that i dont know.

Many peoples have friends who live far away, my best friend example is curently living an entire OCEAN away. So there is for sure usages for stuff such as this.

Thought granted I would never use it myself, but I can see others who would have need for them.

No offence taken, fair point but I meet good people on forums and whatever that I can only keep in contact through PSN & forums and HOME will add to that.

i don't want to sound like a PS3 hater, but i just don't see the excitement in this. I mean I'm sure the technology is impressive, but i don't see how walking around in a "second world" can be fun. maybe, i'll be proved wrong?

If you ask me, I'd say it is a waste of time walking around and go from place to place.

If you ask me, I'd say this is a very cool thing to people who enjoy social games like this. And its more then just walking around, you can watch videos, talk to people, and play games.

I'll stick to secondlife. Atleast there i can create/upload my own animations, make my own buildings etc
HOME looks good for consoles but nothing really in the way of being good for user created content.

That's not a unicycle, it has two wheels! Looks like a Victorian-era style bike, a Penny Farthing or similar. And what's going on with all the furniture?!?

For the love of god, please no! Seriously I don't understand why people get excited about that. For me it's just a chatprogram and I'd rather have MS finally pull out a voice chat with more than 2 people in it than that.

It looks fine and all. I'm not excited at all; more like curious. Not that I mind having the option. With these interfaces more options is pretty much a good thing. As long as I'm not forced to navigate Home, just to play a game (which by all reports will not happen) I'm good with it.

But I tell you, I would trade all of this home stuff for the ability to do multi-person video conferencing (four at least). Come on Sony/MS let's get to it.

The more I see of this, the more I want it!.......and I don`t know why lol. This is one of the reasons that a new, BIG tv should be on the cards.
