EA released this quite cool trailer of Need for Speed: Most Wanted. If they only can get some cool police-vs-thug Xbox Live modes working, I'm all in for a buy.

I keep looking for jaggies in PDZ and Gears of War and I don't see them. Maybe I should print out a screen and get a 60x mag scope and try to find these imperfections. NOTHING IS PERFECT, but NFS still looks like current gen. Even the 360 version does. Multi-console games will not have a big jump guys. Why would a company spent 2 million on every single game for every single plat. That is not smart business. And at the end of the day THIS IS A BUSINESS, and $$$$ runs it. Untill we (gamers) stop supporting sorry efforts by dev it will keep happening. Eitherway I will still get MADDEN 360, because I like football, and I want the new live features. So without create a player and stupid owner mode I'm cool with that.

The important point is that consumers exect a $400+ next gen console to bring new levels of gaming to the table. Graphics, Gameplay, Interfacing, etc...
A few Xbox 360 games do this. Like others I am excited for those games. Others, like NFS, appear to bring nothing new to the table. Why should a gamer buy a $400 console if the gaming is not going to be better? And finally there are games like Madden and NBA Live that are absolutely take steps BACKWARDS in regards to features and functionality.
Honestly, do you need to start straw man mud slinging because a poster disagrees with you? Further, I never mentioned Gamespot nor made any comments about them being biased. You pulled that out of you know where. That is called deflecting. You are making stuff up to get attention away from the issue at hand.
1.) A slew of recycled genres have created one of the worse down years in the industries history.
2.) Unique, non-derivative titles have been the titles pushing sales this year.
I am not argueing against sequals or that recycling ideas is bad. But games are an interactive medium that is still growing. Some developers are pushing that medium and others are not.
e.g. Last year saw the first time games had meaningful physics that added, in a very small way, to the gameplay. The medium is in its infancy. And while a car game that races like an N64 racer is not necessarily a bad game it surely is not "next generation".
PGR3 is a great example of small advancements. They created a detailed cockpit and then created a cockpit view where the POV was affected by the inertia and bumpiness of the road. VERY SMALL THING. But it adds a world of detail to the game. Bizarre went on to add a killer rendering engine that actually uses pushes the hardware to a degree.
NFS:MW is a port of a 5 year old platform. It does not mean it is a bad game. It may be fun. But as Scarface noted people are not tossing down $400 for a system to play a game that plays idenitcally to the game on their Xbox--only in HD.
People are tossing down $400 for future titles (Halo 3, GoW, Mass Effect, Too Human, etc) or for killer games available at launch (Oblivion, PGR3, CoD2, Kameo). These are games you cannot get on the Xbox.
NFS:MW is a game, for the most part, you can--and HAVE--played on the Xbox.
And that does not even begin to engage the stripped features from Madden and NBA Live. People will literally be paying for a game with LESS features. Yeah, nice shiny graphics--only old stale animation system and no create a player, limited franchise (none in NBA Live!) etc.
If it is all about the gameplay I am not sure how one could defend the fact these games will offer less replay value than their current gen counterparts.
Obviously a small site like Xboxyde feels and obligation to a company like EA for distributing media and giving them passes to gaming events. I am not advocating aimless ranting against EA (Madden has always been my favorite football franchise and I quite love the Dice/EA Battlefield series). But no company deserves kid gloves if they are not meeting consumer expectations.
Consumer desire is different from person to person, but on the whole especting people to put down $400 for a console you need good games. The 360 has a few of those--more than most other launches by far--but games like NFS:MW are not going to be pushing the sales.
Games like PGR3 will. It is exclusive, it has new features not seen before, and it looks next gen. NFS:MW is not exclusive, it is on the other consoles, and is not offering much new to the genre.
It really is as simple as that. May be a good game, but alas it is something you can get on your Xbox or PC.

I think the game looks pretty good. The shadows, lighting, car models all look decent. It might not be PGR3 level of detail but I don't think it's trying to accomplish the same things.

Its not great but its not the horrible piece of shit some of you guys are makeing it out to be. Personally I think that the 360 has a great launch line up. I dont find it to be any worse than past launch line ups. Its easily better thant the original Xbox's launch, which had Halo and the first PGR as really the only great titles.

But that doesn't make NFS MW any better. It looks like crap on the 360 and I have no idea why people have to argue about it here and write that much... it looks crap I can't help it.
look at the textures in this video. That movie shows a Xbox1 Version (but it isn't) of a game that doesn't look any better than Burnout Revenge on current gen. HD Gaming they write on the title... makes me just laugh.
It's a shame to show such a bad trailer after those highres (markting) screenshots... again like with every new generation lunch they show screens that have nothing to do with reality and I just had enough of that BS.

Acert93:
First of all, I didn't mean that stuff in any aggressive way. What I meant with those two things was:
1 - As soon as Gamespot or any other site gives an EA game good reviews, it's all about "Blabla that site is biased!!". Some people can't just accept that those game can be good, just because it's EA.
2 - With the marketing, I meant that Majesco or any other company is retarded if they don't understand that they need to market their game. I'm not saying you're retarded, cause you're not the one marketing the games - right? ;)
"
We all know it doesn't look like that when you PLAY the game. You don't see those muscles and stuff. It's just a green pitch with dudes running around it.
BUT, those are the stuff making people go "OMG it's looks sooo real!! o_O". And all people won't be able to play the games before they come out, and before they buy them.
I absolutely think, just as with the last generation switch, that this will make EA sell more than before. They have the money, they have all that crazy experience - they know how to do at least OK graphics. And some people can think that PGR3 just look plain booring. A crazy field with cops and thiefs and oncoming traphics can make many go "whoo-di-doo!".
Yes, the movie industry is a little bit weird right now. BUT STILL - WHEN the good films come, they still brake all-new high records in terms of selling tickets. And STILL, non-revolutionary films as Mr & Mrs Smith still get people to go and see them.
And still, there are underrated movies no one go watch, just because they look weird (*remember the spanish movie released this year where they sat two hours just talking in a room - and it got best reviews ever*).
People are tossing down $400 for future titles (Halo 3, GoW, Mass Effect, Too Human, etc) or for killer games available at launch (Oblivion, PGR3, CoD2, Kameo). These are games you cannot get on the Xbox."
BUT, people will also BUY Oblivion. People don't buy Xbox 360 to play Fifa and NFS. People will buy it to play PGR3, but nothing stops them from buying NFS TOO. People buy many games to their console - it's not like in the old days, where you owned like 5 titles.
You have NO idea of what we had to go trough to get even ACCESS to their media site. They are not sending any mails too us. I'm VERY pleased to have access to their media site, but it took many years before we got there, and quite frankly - their support has possible been the worst of all the companies I've tried to get too.
Trust me - EA is the ones giving us the least. And just the thought that they release US exclusive media - blah. And no, as far as I know, they aren't giving us any expo access. Fansites means nothing to them (it seems) and they often force us to take down our videos.
