Dead or Alive Extreme Volleyball was one of my favorite games on the Xbox. It wasn't a deep game at all, but it was, first and foremost, a great way to kill some time when coming home from work. Getting a sequel on the 360 was great news for me so I preordered the game as soon as possible. But now after a few hours of playing the game I'm quite disappointed. Between the graphics far from being as impressive as I'd expect from Team Ninja (and at 30 fps!), the fact that the game has now become a bit too complex to just play and enjoy it for a few minutes of fun and an overall lack of polish, I can't help but think that DOAX2 was just a quick cash-in Team Ninja rushed out of the door to be in time for Christmas. I can't say it's an awfully bad game, but it's basically just the sum of average to OK small games, linked with numerous and very annoying loading screens.

They have two girls running and you can see the much improved physics engine for all four of them. They added some self shadowing too. Is this still about Volleyball?

Absolutely love DOA Ultimate and DOA4 (currently my favorite game!) but I'm not exactly convinced with this branch of the series. Graphics are looking sharp and some of those mini games could be fun though. :)

I'm sure I'll be laughed at, but I really enjoyed the volleyball in the first game and still actually play it every so often. The trailer was pretty good, I hope that jetski portion is actually playable.

This looks more like a tech demo meets some sex starved teen's beach fantasy. :|
The self shadowing is very nice, and the hair seems to be an improvement from DoA4. Animation is quite good, but the physics are far to rubbery/stupid. Definately caught the anime feeling, but problem: The trailer says nothing about the game.
Seriously, are there kids out there so hormonally driven that such classless games like Rumble Roses and this appeal to gamers? Don't answer that!
The gameplay could be outstanding, but you would never know it watching this. The graphics are nice though, although I don't even want to think about the fact that a) the graphics are intended to arouse and b) there are guys who respond in kind. (yuck!)
Anyhow, you can barely tell this is a volleyball game. Question: Are all the other elements--jet skiis, swimming, giant water slides, etc--playable as well? This would make an interesting "Barbie at the Beach" sim where you have to "manage" your time at the beach hahaha

Am I the only one that actually enjoyed the game behind the eye candy of the first one? lol. It was at least entertaining, not worth ragging on saying it's all about the eye candy (but thats it's biggest selling point no doubt).

I'm pretty sure this version isn't all about the volleyball, hence why it's not in the title. I heard Itagaki quoted somewhere saying he wanted there to be a lot more activities and not just volleyball.
