At first announced on Xbox, then canceled, then finally announced for 360, Chromehounds has a rather long history now. Well it's now finally available in Japan and Europe, and even if my full impressions will have to wait until I've played the game a bit more, here are the first 10 minutes of the game, showing a CG cutscene and the full totorial level. More videos in the next few days. The game runs at 60 fps, so do the videos. A powerful PC is required for the 720p version!

2006-04-22 11:00:04 2 Chromehounds Gameplay Videos

We’ve seen and played CHROMEHOUNDS at TGS 2005, and let us be the first to tell you that this game is incredible. FROM has provided us with two movie files for your enjoyment, but you’ll only be able to get a handle on the beauty of CHROMEHOUNDS’s gameplay, and not its physical aesthetics- yep, these files are oddly and unfortunately of lower resolution.

Trust us: CHROMEHOUNDS is one of the more visually striking games for the Xbox 360 that we have seen…so don’t let the blur-fest below fool ya’.

We’ve nabbed two videos for your viewing pleasure. One features a heavier mech (notice the cumbersome movement and visual bulk) equipped with a devastating rocket pack. Notice how both man-made and natural environmental objects can be leveled by these beasts. The other video features a mech that is of the nimble ilk, sporting a sniper cannon. Pay particular attention to the inset camera which automatically flip-flops between first person and third person views, depending on the main viewpoint- sweet!

No prob I like what I see here looking forward to this one. In addition to some higher resolution videos to get a better look at the title's visuals, but I really like the gameplay so far.

sweet!
I love the explosions, and the dynamic lighting is very well done.
Seeing the buildings destroyed was also satisfying.

Just my type of game too.
I like the slower semi-tactical/arcadey pace, especially with such powerful looking guns.

Those dumb AI mechs sorta worry me though. Walking into walls? bleh :/

You say we're getting there? Oh, fine.

Yea hahaahhaa i saw that dumb mech walking into the building... think about it like this plumb, the game is so god damn realistic that people's mechs start malfunctioning from not being properly serviced regularly :P

hah!
(that's a little too realistic for me. I hope my mech won't start malfunctioning from lack of regular checkups)
