Koei has made some good games, and maybe they can use their combined resources to make games that were better than they could have previously. It's a little too early to say that this is a bad move. If they crash financially it was bad, if they release nothing but shit, it was bad.. but.. right now.. it just sorta is whatever.

I am basing my statement on the quality of their games recently and to be honest, they have both produced some very average if not below average games. Of course, we dont know what's gonna happen but logic tells me if mix average with average, you only gonna get average at best.

Time will tell though.

I realise I'm a niche audience who actually enjoy Dynasty Warriors, but even apart from that I think Koei and Tecmo philosophies probably naturally mesh better than Square and Tecmo's would. I think this sounds even better personally.

Koei is still firmly a japanese developer, and with their consistently strong Musou games (from a sales standpoint) it'll complement Tecmo's dev cycle length and different market focus perfectly. Being veteran publishers of RPGs in the west, Code Chronus has its future secured if they pursue that aswell.

Well, just getting a bunch of new scenarios and characters and some other slight improvements is pretty much all good to me. There's only so many times you can finish the same exact TITLE before you know it inside out, and it's not like there is an alternative that offers the same kind of old school mindless brawling.

Most that try make it too fussy and lose that ever elusive addictive factor of endlessly beating people up with a co-op buddy.
