rental for me. it doesnt seem to deviate from the old formula enough to make it worhwhile to me, and considering this is the 9th game, thats not a good thing. the series needs a major overhaul imo.

Uh, the series just got a major overhaul and a new developer, and it was good. Now I'm not saying that it should be more than a rental, there's virtually no replayability (ya know, like most games) and the game is destined to be quite short.. but I think it's still going to be quite good. Hopefully there's no vehicle chase though, uck.

Can't wait to play it on my un-viable PC.

theres no doubt its gonna be good. i just feel its time for the series to move on. and when it does i'll be the first to pick the game up. legend and anniversary where good games. but i would have been dissapointed if i payed 40 quid for them.

Can someone link me to the trailer? I go to the official site and click on the link that says "trailer blablblkabl" and it just scrolls the page up but no trailer?

So were people serious when they said it looks better than Uncharted? From what I saw, it's not quite there. The animations in Uncharted are a lot better, and other things I can tell easily tell look better is the lighting, but it does look pretty damn good.

I think the quality is similar.

I think uncharted has better textures and the character models, but from what I have seen the enviroments in TR are probably better and supposedly much larger.

The textures in the screenshot of TR:U on the main page look pretty terrible though :(

And that's exactly it. Having a game look this good and be that big is a huge achievement and YES Lebaro, I am serious and I still think it looks better than uncharted.

Ok alimobrane, I was just wondering. I still think Uncharted has the edge, but how big are the environments supposed to be in this game then? It is going to be an open world or what?

Looks promising IMO. Since Toby Gard returned to the studios, it looks like Lara is back to her original roots. Tomb Raider Legend was a nice return for the series, Anniversary was a very good remake of hte first one and now the true next gen Tomb Raider. Can't wait really.
On the other side, haven't you mentioned how many good games asre going to hit the market this fall?
We need to be very selective, because I do not earn enough money to buy everything is going to be released. Too many good games this year, and I tthought last year was good this one is even better.

I'm not ready to say that looks on par with or better than Uncharted. I need an HD video at least so I can see what it looks like on my HDTV.

Or maybe I'm just seeing a different video from everyone else.

Alimo character model looks much better in Uncharted.
But in terms of environment Tomb Raider Underworld has a bit more less strong colors than Uncharted, but I think thats the way they wanted for Uncharted.

But it's Naughty Dog, when Uncharted 2 hits it will probably look and run better, but now both Uncharted and TRU looks veyr good

I say uncharted has a big edge because, in Uncharted, there appears to be more of a varied look to any one of it's incredible looking environments whereas with Tomb Raider, it appears that they had no choice, but to go with a more similar blanket look across the entire environment which seems to be present in that TRU shot.

This shot alone i think really gets across what I'm trying to say about Uncharted.

But seriously, that Uncharted sceen only looks so good because it is small, it makes it look more detailed than it is.

It's a nice looking game, but I don't think its as great as some people would have us believe.

i still think its the best looking console game this gen thus far. although the competition is closing in on it. the textures, animation, everything that makes a game look great in motion just puts it over the top of everything else, and for me, tomb raider isnt a game to surpass it. tomb raider hower has the edge in terms of a larger more explorable environment (at least thats what the devs have us believe) but visually it doesnt look THAT far removed from legend or anniversary to me.
