Sweet Mother of God! These visuals are finger linking good! If the gameplay, story and pacing is anything like R.E 4 than we sure are in for a sweet treat.

This would be a game with which either Sony or Microsoft can score some serious points with by securing EXCLUSIVE DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT.

Think additional CHARACTERS, WEAPONS, ENEMIES ETC, ETC.

Whose is gonna make the first move?

Holy fu... shit!!!!!! Graphics are gorgeous, gameplay would be fun (better than in RE4 I hope), cut scenes are simply awesome (all in real time), and Capcom said they worked hard on story this time, not like in RE4 (very poor story)

If this is the same trailer I viewed last night, then it's fair to say that THIS is showing some of the true potential of current gen consoles. This is what they were built for visually. It's blowing the bollocks clean out of over-hyped games (visually) like KZ2, and pretty much everything else on a PS3 that everything thinks is the best looking thing since sliced bread. Now before you fan boy maniacs come and berate me about this latest controversial transgression shocker towards your beloved console, know this: RE5 is multi-platform, so yes, it's on your system too...so deep breath, I wasn't being bias at all. Same goes for the GEARS freaks. This is smoking that too, visually, and by a fair degree.

Capcom are showing people how it's done. I really can't believe how they have got this game looking how it does. It's basically looking like a rendered intro movie, and the lighting and shadowing is probably the best I've seen in a game...ever. Not only this, but the models in the game are absolutely incredible. Capcom have produced in this game arguably the most realistic representations of human beings in a videogame that I've seen. What? What's that you say? Crysis? NO! Sorry, but these models are surpassing those in that game also. People were ranting and raving about how Heavy Rain has realistic looking people, but again, Capcom is showing them all how its done.

God bless the DR-engine. The blur, the camera. It's perfect. Proves you don't need high-detail models for a great looking game.

@dingleberry: yeah, I agree. Best looking game I've seen so far. Fantastic trailer!

But we should consider the screenshot and trailer use a very high anti aliasing setting that the Xbox 360 could never handle in realtime. The game itself will therefore look a bit worse.

And a lot of the realism comes with the noise effect for some reason. Like in Mass Effect. If you turned of the noise filter it looked much more artificial. Doesn't really matter though.

Also I think the game itself will look far worse than the cutscenes. Just look at Dead Rising (also from Capcom, same engine?). Stunning cutscene quality for its time but ingame was far less impressive. Seems to be the same for RE5 if I look at the ingame videos...
